Welcome back mentors,

It’s about that time again. Summer was truly amazing, I have heard wonderful things from scholars about the fantastic mentors that we have at Ward 6! I am eager to get started this fall. After school Academy for scholars will start October 5th, although for you it starts the week of September 28th.

If you have not done so yet please log into ISIS and Confirm Your Spot for the fall. If this presents any problem please call or e-mail me and I am happy to assist.

Scholars really showed a lot of SPARC this summer. We had a fantastic Science fair, 8th grade mentors should be really proud of the science projects that the 8th graders presented. 5th graders also participated in the science fair, the 5th graders that you will be meeting are committed, energetic and truly a joy to be around. You all are in for a treat. You will be hearing new sounds around center, Scholar Jasmin Walden developed a new cheer this summer and it rocks! We culminated our summer experience with the college trip. 5th-7th went to Virginia Tech, and the 8th graders got a jump start on high school placement on a trip to University of Maryland. Remember we always need more mentors, so pass the word along to friends and colleges. If you need a blurb for a blog, flyers to hand out or want to come help us recruited let me know!
