Shout Outs for the week of April 20, 2009

Spirit:
-To Ms. Sarah Widner for the spirit and commitment you have shown in supporting your scholars. Your constant push for excellence is matched only by the lengths you are willing to go to support the scholars in reaching their unique potential.

-To everyone who contributed to Ms. Chrissie’s baby shower. Your spirit made it possible for us to have such an event. Thank you for giving of yourselves to a fellow community member in celebration of her 1st child. Events like this continue to impress upon me just how special our community is.

Academic Excellence:
-To Mr. Wes for finding creative ways to encourage your scholars to embrace literature and actively participate. It was amazing to see your scholars play the parts of Winston Churchill and Edgar Allan Poe so convincingly.

-To Mr. Michael for continuing to motivate and challenge your scholars. You do a great job of challenging Jason and Damia at a high level and encouraging them to continue to push further.

Respect:
-To Mr. Matthew Beben for your continued positive reinforcement with Daion. He has shown so much improvement over the past 2-3 months and continues to grow in confidence each week.

-To Ms. Zinethia, Mr. Jon and Mr. Joe for taking on the role of campaign advisors and supporting our scholars through this process. You ability to honor and respect the scholars has allowed them to embrace and express their thoughts with us all.


Collaboration:
-To Ms. Jill for encouraging her scholars to be collaborative and respectful at Center. Your strong focus on relationship building and collaboration has fostered a great learning community in your mentoring group. Outstanding Job!

To every mentor that comes to Center each week with a positive attitude and allows their SPARC to ingnite someone else's. Thank you for being a great mentor.
