Drum roll please…………We will be starting Center NEXT week!

I am pleased to announce the location of our new Ward 6 Achievement Center! We will be located at Center City Public Charter School Capital hill Campus! Mentors please look at the announcements below for all the details. We are excited to partner with Center City, and feel that they offer a long term benefit to our scholars. We look forward to working with Center City, and supporting you as we make this transition. With our site secured, we are moving forward with the launching of After School Academy. Please see below for the schedule of our launch. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and understanding throughout this process. I look forward to seeing all of you soon and beginning the work ahead.

Announcements

· New Site Update: The Ward 6 Achievement Center will be hosted by Center City Public Charter School, located at 1503 East Capitol St, SE Washington, DC 20003.


Calendar for next week

· Monday, October26, 2009 - Afterschool Academy Kick-off
6-8 pm at Center City Public Charter School (1503 East Capitol St, SE
Washington, DC 20003). All mentors are invited. Please come and meet scholars and parents.

· Tuesday October 27, 2009 - Launch of After School Academy
3:30-8pm 1st Day of Center. All Tuesday night mentors should attend during normal mentoring time 6-8:15pm for culture night (lessons will not be starting).

· Thursday October 29, 2009- Center will take place from 3:30-8pm All Thursday night mentors should attend during normal mentoring time 6-8:15pm for culture night (lessons will not be starting).

I appreciate everyone’s flexibility with our site change. If there is a huge conflict please let me know.

Mentoring Assignments:
Next week will be culture week for Tuesday and Thursday night mentors, Monday November 2 will be culture night for Monday mentors. Your Mentoring Assignments will be given out during the second week of center. Please make sure you can login to ISIS and that the assigned days are correct. Make sure to update your profile.

Shout Outs:
I want to say thank you to everyone for continued support and excitement about mentoring. Stay excited about meeting your scholars next week!

Please let me know as soon as possible if this location does not work for you. We want to keep you involved with Higher Achievement and many of our centers still need mentors.
